Youth Democracy Cohort's #YouthInAction Campaign
  • S4D Travel Fund for Civil Society: To support in-person participation by members of civil society during the second day of the Summit for Democracy, a travel fund has been created that will aid in covering expenses for representatives and individuals to attend S4D3. Each organization is eligible to nominate one representative. Interested parties can apply here.
  • The Deliberative Democracy and Citizens’ Assemblies Cohort released a Call to Action for the Third Summit for Democracy.
  • Ahead of the third edition of the Summit for Democracy, the Youth Democracy Cohort launches a campaign called #YouthInAction to refocus on the commitments that improve Youth Political Participation (found in the Menu of Possible Commitments). The aim is to garner momentum for greater improvement of youth political participation rights.
  • On Day 2 of the Summit for Democracy, please join the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and the Australian Election Commission for a showcase of the Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections (BRIDGE) training module on disability rights and elections. This session is open to all participants, including government officials, civil society, and technology companies. Utilizing BRIDGE’s interactive learning format, participants will learn how to include people with disabilities in all aspects of the electoral cycle, including as voters, candidates, poll workers and election observers. A focus will be put on inclusion of young people with disabilities, and how to mitigate the unique barriers they experience as a result of ableism and ageism, as well as examples of accessible election technology that can make elections more inclusive. Sample commitments that states can make around disability-inclusive democracy and governance, developed in consultation with disability rights advocates from around the world, will be shared with all participants.
  • The co-leads of the Financial Transparency and Integrity (FTI) Cohort, International Cooperation for Anti-Corruption Cohort, and Anti-Corruption Policies Cohort plan to hold a joint session on the Day 2 of the 3rd Summit for Democracy in Seoul. The session will examine progress, challenges, and the use of technology in advancing anti-corruption priorities and commitments identified through the democracy cohorts. The session will be open to the public.
