Ireland has moved to improve electoral integrity – other countries should follow suit

As a part of its written commitments to the Summit for Democracy, Ireland committed to establishing an independent statutory Electoral Commission. The bill passed last week also included provisions to improve the transparency of online political advertising, which up until this bill was unregulated.
