Carnegie Connects: Democracy in Peril

Play video

Ahead of the Summit, analysts with Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will discuss the state of democracy and the path forward from the Summit. Questions to discuss include whether the Summit can be successful given democracy's global downturn, whether dividing dictatorships and democracies presents a useful paradigm, and if the US can continue to provide global democratic leadership given its own troubles with democracy.

A livestream and recording of the discussion will be available above.

Speakers include:

  • Frances Z. Brown, senior fellow and co-director of Carnegie’s Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program
  • Rachel Kleinfeld, senior fellow in the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program
